What Better Way to Spend a Day?

Here is the link to something interesting that Abby Blaylock mentioned when she came to talk last week. Real World PR is a program put on by the Georgia chapter of PRSA every year and is for public relations students and includes informative workshops on  new media, internships, making yourself marketable, and lots more! There is also a career expo, resume critiques and countless opportunities to network with PR pros. The conference is an all day event that takes place on Friday February 20th from 8am-4pm. If you register by Feb 8th you get a $10 discount off of the registration fee.  Breakfast and lunch are provided.

Here’s more info from Abby, who spoke at our January PRSSA meeting:

“Over dinner last week I was telling the girls about Real World PR, a one-day PR conference for students around the Southeast that PRSA|Georgia hosts each year in Atlanta.

It is a FANTASTIC opportunity to get to know PR professionals in the Atlanta area, learn about the industry and network for jobs and opportunities around the Southeast. I’ve been for the past three years and found the conference extremely beneficial.

This year the keynote speaker at the luncheon handles social media for McDonald’s – how cool is that!

I’ve included links to more information below. Can you please share this with your chapter members through your listserv, Twitter, Facebook, PROpenMic, LinkedIn, etc?

My students at UGA go to Real World every year – & this will be the 2nd year in a row I’ve talked there – & it is GREAT! Powerful sessions on things you want/need to know about the profession, trends & how to get a job. And networking opportunities are amazing! Hope to see some Clemson folk in Atlanta in a few weeks!
