Common Interview Questions

December 2, 2008

We all know that Interviews are a vital part of getting a job as well as earning leadership positions to build our resume.  Whether interviewing for sorority/fraternity positions, Orientation ambassador, internships, or paid jobs, it is important to be prepared when walking into an interview.  Generally, each interview consists of the following questions or a version of these questions:

1. Tell me about yourself.

-Have a short statement prepared but be careful it does not sound rehearsed.  Talk about thinks you have done and positions you have held in chronological order.

2. Do you consider yourself successful?

-You should always answer yes and briefly explain why.

3. How would your closest friends describe you?

4. How would you be an asset to this organization?

-Highlight your best personality traits in relation to the goals of the organization.

5. What is your greatest strength?

-Stay positive.  You could talk about: leadership skills, prioritize skills, working under pressure, and focus.
